After the death of Alexander the III there was no heir to the throne. The people of Scotland began arguing amongst themselves. They couldn’t decide who should be the next King so they asked King Edward I of England to decide. He was a very powerful man and saw an opportunity to become even stronger. He chose John Baillol to become the next King of Scotland.
We wrote a script describing the meeting between Edward I and the new King of Scotland.
We have been learning about what life is like in 13th Century Scotland. We looked at different areas such as life in the burgh, beliefs, life on farms and food.
We designed some posters and presented our findings to the class. Here are our short presentations.
